The Dudley Observatory supports education and outreach in astronomy and sponsors the Skywatch line which tells you what can be seen in the night sky. Skywatch is written by members of the Albany Area Amateur Astronomers.

The George Landis Arboretum in Esperance is where AAAA holds some of its star parties. The Arboretum has plantings of trees, shrubs, and herbaceous perennials from around the world on 40 acres and is on the site of a 19th century farm. They have a total of 598 acres with 6 miles of hiking trails. The arboretum offers instructional programs for all ages, and the gardens, trails and grounds are open to all.
Heavens Above provides satellite predictions and can be set up to give predictions for any location. You can go directly to predictions for Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga Springs, and Amsterdam. For most satellites, the nearest location on this list will be sufficient. For Iridium Flares (satellites that catch the Sun just right and become briefly brighten than Venus), you’ll want to get predictions for your exact location.
The Northeast Astronomy Forum & Telescope Show (NEAF) is held every spring in Suffern, New York, and features wonderful speakers and a field house full of telescopes and amateur astronomy equipment from vendors and manufacturers.
Stellafane is a convention of amateur telescope makers and astronomers held near Springfield, Vermont, every summer.
The Connecticut River Valley Astronomer’s Conjunction is a wonderful little astronomy convention held every summer near Northfiled, Massacusetts.
