Professional Development Opportunities for Educators

Want to sharpen your STEM teaching skills? Dudley at Siena periodically offers a variety of professional development opportunities to offer resources and help you engage your students in astronomy and physics concepts. You’ll have an opportunity to learn directly from Dudley Astronomer with Siena College – Dr. Mindy Townsend and explore astronomy with hands on activities to deepen your content knowledge.

Dudley Astronomy Teacher Institute

July 21-25, 2025

9:00 am - 4:30 pm daily

Calling all teachers! Dudley at Siena is offering a week-long Astronomy Teacher Institute July 21-25 at Siena College. Come learn about cosmology, stellar evolution, observational astronomy, and more from the experts!

Participants will walk through hands-on activities with the Dudley Astronomer, local astronomers, astrophysicists, planetary scientists, and meet and collaborate with your fellow high school science, physics, astronomy and earth science teachers.

Registration will be limited to 20 participants. Lunch, snacks, and certificates for completed course hours provided.

Cost - $400.00 per participant
