Starting in the 1950’s and spanning about 20 years, Dudley Observatory studied micro-meteorites through launching probes and balloons into the upper atmosphere to collect and examine the micro-meteorites found there. More information about that project and collection can be found here:

Dudley’s current meteorite collection is used in education and program including our popular Meteorite or Meteorwrong workshop.
